Here is a picture of my Two Angels.

This is my Grandma and PaPa.  I live with them.  They LOVE me more than  words could say.

They have been my Angels since day one, and since the day of the accident they have been my life line.

Grandma and Papa won't let me give up.  They make me do lots of things that I don't like doing, but they know what is best for me. "At lease that what they keep telling me!"

Grandma is my voice for all things.  She doesn't  take NO for a answer, and she dose not know the word impossible.

Papa, is the one who ruff-houses around with me.  He keeps me ALL boy!  Once in a while, Papa will take care of me when Grandma wants to get out the house and go running around.  She really needs that more.  Sometimes Papa will take me out to the barn to see the chickens and goats.  But, he really likes to come in and put his cold hands on me to see me move away.  Then he laughs.  My Papa, also like to pick on the ladies who help take care of me.  He always tell them "I'm just keeping you on your toe"

My Grandma does many things on the computer.  She has helped a lot of people with there kids who are near drowns just like me.  She has met many people over the last years and while doing so she has found new ways to help me. She also keeps my web page updated, and in the last year, Grandma became a Reiki Master to help me and others.

My Grandma will talk to any one any where or anytime.  She will talk your ear off about me, and will always brag on how much I have learned.

Now about me:

I might talk about how old I am, what I look like.

Bobby is now 11 years and a very handsome young man. Bobby is a joy to our lives and we love watching him grow.

We have recently purchased a Portable Hyper Baric Chamber for Bobby and we hope to see even more improvement in Bobby.

We have been caring for Bobby for 8 years now, and we have a really hard time finding families who are walking the same walk that we are. I have found information on how to prevent a drowning, but very little on what to do when they survive.

We have found that at the time of the accident there was not much hope given to our family that Bobby would live, let alone do anything meaningful in life. I have found this to be true of all the families that I have talked to.

We now know that there is hope for our loved one, and that we just have to be strong, and do what our hearts tell us. For this is the only hope that we have to hold on to.

With this page, I hope to give the families a place to go and talk about the daily care's they have with there loved one. The hardships they have endured. The way it has changed their family. The lost of friends since the accident. Have a place to go to talk to other people about the treatments, they do and have had done for there loved one.

Alternative treatments that have been tried, like cranial sacral, hypnotist, acupuncture, magnets. The using of herbs instead of medicine for treatment.

Just a place to go and know that the people they are talking with understand.

I have set up a group for Families of near drowns. There you can go and talk to other families who are also walking this walk.

My Favorite Thing's To Do or to Have:

Bobby's favorite thing's are cartoon's, country music, and being out side on  the deck, having grandma play with him and Papa come in and play ruff with him.

Bobby has a dog who's name is Buddy. Buddy is his best friend. Buddy picked Bobby out when we went looking for a dog. The first thing that Buddy did was jump up on the wheelchair and lick Bobby's hand. That's all that it took for us to know that they where meant for each other. Out of about 20ty dogs, Buddy was the only one who just walked up and acted like he had been with Bobby all his life.

Buddy loves being on Bobby's lap or Bobby's tray that fits on his wheelchair. Buddy will jump up and try to protect Bobby if he thinks that we are being ruff with him, or if Bobby fusses when we are doing his ROM.

Bobby also has a cat named Deanny, this cat is Bobby's bed partner. Deanny will come and wake us up in the middle of the night if Bobby is awake. In the morning Deanny will come and make sure that we are getting up to take care of Bobby. We can't convince the cat that there is a word called weekends!

If Bobby makes a sound the hole house has to get up and see what is going on.

April 16, 2005
Well here we are 10 years out for the drowning, and Bobby is still showing the Dr. that with lots of Love, Hope, and Prayers that all things are possible.

In the last year Bobby had had many changes.  He now communicates with us by using his eyes.  We get one blink for YES and Bobby holds his eyes wide open for NO.  This has been a huge thing both for Bobby and for those who care for him.  We now can find out what is happening with Bobby, like he don't feel good, if he want to play, and also many other things that before the was just a guessing game for us.

In DEC. we got a new wheelchair.  Bobby is growing like a weed.  He now stands 5ft 1 3/4 inches and his old one just didn't fix anymore.

In March we found a new therapy called Vital Stim.  It works on the muscles in the throat by using a elec. stimulator.  The stimulator help Bobby swallow, and also with his tongue movement.  We have sine lots of improvement since we started to use this new therapy on Bobby.  The most important improvement is that Bobby can now swallow all on his own.  We have to do very little suctioning any more. Also we are hearing lots of new sounds from Bobby.  The muscles for swallowing and voice are right next to each other, so we are hoping for TWO blessing in one.

Life has been very good to us these last 10 years.  We have seen miracle after miracle with Bobby.

All of this from the little 3 1/2 year old, to now a teenager who was not going to make it though the night ten years ago.
